What are the best nonviolent games that have a storyline?

So many games rely on fighting as the central game mechanic that I thought it would be fun to compile a list of games that don't require violence, but to avoid having a huge list of puzzle games like Tetris and Bejeweled, I thought it would be more interesting to list the games that have a story that doesn't involve fighting.

its not a puzzle game per se, but it does have elements of that.

It's not really that much fun of a game, but I really like the idea of a loose narrative where you can say whatever you want to the characters and they will respond to your words.

Max can be violent, but it's not directly controlled and his violence is not the focus of the game.

Flower tells a story, but it's a bit vague. You kind of have to pay attention to what happens in each stage

Viva Pinata has a storyline, not a very deep one, but it's there

Beyond Good and Evil is borderline. It has fighting, but Jade hits things with a stick and her biggest weapon in the game is really her camera as she takes photographic evidence to unravel a conspiracy. Most of the game is her sneaking around avoiding violence

Can we consider hop and bop platformers like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot and Mario violent when these characters are basically jumping on people's heads?

Rez and Project Eden are rail shooters, but the things you shoot are extremely abstract. Similarly, in Asteroids you are clearing space junk out of your immediate area, though that one also lets you destroy enemy ships.
