Ha no

If it isn't from Monoprice, it is a stupid purchase. It is amazing what people spend on these Monster Cables that has nothing special about them at all; especially when a digital signal can't really be improved by a cable anyway.

Monster really sucks. Not just because of their overpriced bullshit, but the way they go around trying to sue anything and everything with the word "Monster" in its name.

Monster also likes to scare small cable-makers into signing licensing agreements by slapping them with (usually bogus) patent infringement claims.

i must admit the s-video monster cables for my snes do make a huge improvement over my official s-video ones on my hdtv, it got rid of all the checkerboard patterns. so they must be doing something right, but then again i think i only paid $15

It's also worth mentioning that Monoprice's cables tend to be pretty damn nice anyway, especially for the price. I find myself frequently surprised by what I get from them.

And they come in a lovely rainbow of colors so you can tell what cable is what when it leaves the back of your console, enters the bird's nest behind your AV setup, and then emerges to connect to your receiver or TV.
