I ordered Katamari Forever for PS3 from Amazon(co.uk) and despite it not being listed as such, when it turned up it was the North American version.
I know that the PS3 is region free anyway, so it shouldn't matter, but I'm worried that if there is online or DLC for the game then it might not work 100%.
So I'm torn between keeping it, because it'll work fine anyway, or getting a refund because in principle, they sent me the wrong item and I thought I was getting a PAL copy.
what would you guys do?

Never knew the PS3 was region free as on the spine of the cases it shows a 1 next to like a globe, meaning its region 1 on the earth... lol and everyone knows region one is North American, but i have this GH copy of Uncharted which has the globe on the spine then next to it, it says ALL instead of 1.

Online should work 100% normal, and if there's DLC you absolutely must have, you can make a US PSN account and buy US PSN credits.
I would keep it. Everything will play as normal, and plus the US boxart is cooler.

True. All disc games are region free, all downloadable games are region free, but not all downloadable content is region free. It varies.brunoafh wrote:Online should work 100% normal, and if there's DLC you absolutely must have, you can make a US PSN account and buy US PSN credits.

Funny thing, I got the PAL version of Prince of Persia Trilogy the same way (only in reverse, since I'm in the US)
The game did play fine though. (My guess is, that if you're not using an HD tv, there may be issues with refresh rate and resolution)
Also, to what Hazerd was saying, my copy of Uncharted 3 (purchased day 1 in the US) has an "ALL" on the spine. I think it's the only game I have that does, besides the PAL version of PoP Trilogy.
This may be the new trend for Sony games?

It could be an indication of what version of the instructions, default/available languages are there, and so on.Hazerd wrote:Never knew the PS3 was region free as on the spine of the cases it shows a 1 next to like a globe, meaning its region 1 on the earth... lol and everyone knows region one is North American, but i have this GH copy of Uncharted which has the globe on the spine then next to it, it says ALL instead of 1.
AFAIK, the PS3/PSP/etc aren't region-free per se. They're more like Blu-Ray, where the capacity exists in the system to lock something out based on region, but it's left up to the publisher whether or not to include it, and most don't.

As far I know there are no known region locked PS3 games.isiolia wrote:It could be an indication of what version of the instructions, default/available languages are there, and so on.Hazerd wrote:Never knew the PS3 was region free as on the spine of the cases it shows a 1 next to like a globe, meaning its region 1 on the earth... lol and everyone knows region one is North American, but i have this GH copy of Uncharted which has the globe on the spine then next to it, it says ALL instead of 1.
