Trick Sega Saturn 1MB/4MB RAM Cartridge Question-Interesting

Post by claudio »

Ok, so we all know that some sega saturn games have the option of running in either 1mb ram or 4mb ram such as pocket fighter and other various games ive read about on segagagadomain (including ones that arent on racketboys list, hint hint update! lol)

now for those cartridges that are automatic (include 1 and 4mb) such as the one racketboy is selling or the action replay, will they at default automatically go to 4mb when playing those games that are optional? Or are you stuck on 1 meg mode and the cartridge wont detect that the 4 meg is available.

i have a ST Key with a switch on the cartridge for the 1 and 4. ive run 1mb games on 4mb mode, but some games such as samurai showdown (dont remember which one) are graphically glitchy and have problems so i have to restart the game on 1mb mode.

this has been on my mind for a week now, i hope someone can quench my curiosity.

I think all unofficial carts do, the originals are dedicated 1mb or 4mb carts

Well then, this refers to the Action replay.

sorry i made a mistake about racketboys cart, but the action replay does not have a switch and runs 1 and 4 meg games.
