black wii for $80?
black wii for $80?
I was browsing ebay classifieds and found someone in my city who has a black wii with sensor and cords but no controllers. I've been wanting to get a black wii and I don't need any more controllers anyway so this would be perfect but I'm just curious if the price is right and if not what would be fair? Just wondering because this is sort of tempting.
Re: black wii for $80?
You should be able to get one for around that price with a few controllers and other accessories.
Re: black wii for $80?
Yeah a while back I actually bought a white wii still in the box with all original contents and an extra controller and motion plus for $80 off of a kid on craigslist. Of course I had to talk him down though.
Just wasn't sure if maybe the black was worth more or something? So what would be a fair offer to throw them? They probably won't accept but I figure it wouldn't hurt to try.

I got my Wii for 90 bucks on craigslist with 2 games, 1 controller/nunchuck and all the coords/accessories.. This was back in 2010 when it was still going for $199 retail..

The only Wii units with any extra value are from the original first 6 months or so of production, or "launch" Wiis. They had DVD drives that could read burned discs (which continued on and off up until about the launch of the black model), and they also had a vulnerable boot2. The vulnerable boot2 basically allows you a completely unbrickable Wii which you can hack and homebrew to your hearts content.harper wrote:Just wasn't sure if maybe the black was worth more or something?
..but even it isn't worth a significant amount more at the moment. (Every single Wii model is easily softmoddable to load games via USB storage, it's just that many have a drive incapable of reading backup discs.)

I think differing value's in current gen systems are a farce.. You can get a 60 gb launch ps3 as cheap if not cheaper than any other used version of the ps3 including the slim.. Granted that model is a YLoD waiting to happen..

$50 is probably what i would pay for just console alone.

Re: black wii for $80?
As a reference we sell a used Wii with controller, nunchuck, and all the connections for $100 at the store I work at. That is retail used so paying $80 for a bare system on craigslist is highly over priced I'd say.

Sounds good to me. The problem is finding the opportunity. hahaAznKhmerBoi wrote:$50 is probably what i would pay for just console alone.
