Does it hurt your hands to play Mario Kart 7?

If so, I suggest buying this. The 3DS is so damn small that it makes playing Mario Kart 7 very difficult and painful for extended periods of time. Holding down 3 buttons while steering just doesn't work that well with such a small, thin controller.

I spent about $20 and got this handle controller from Playasia, with the hope that it would make Mario Kart 7 playable for me. It easily surpassed my expectations.

Not only does it add some much needed bulk and ergonomics to the 3DS, it even improves the shoulder buttons. They are larger and better positioned.

It is very easy to attach and remove from the 3DS, and it stays on tight while you use it. It also doesn't block access to any of the 3DS's ports or toggle switches. Overall, Hori designed it very well, as they tend to do.

Unfortunately, it is too large to be portable, so it's pretty much for home use only.

I should mention that you don't have to use gyro controls with it. It works with slide pad steering.

Mario Kart aside, I would use this for every 3DS game. It makes everything easier to control and more comfortable.

It hasn't been announced for release in America, so if you don't want to wait, you can get one from Japan or Europe.

That looks awesome. This would be perfect if there was one that can fit a DSi XL; I notice myself get a bit uncomfortable holding a DS for an extended time. I wonder if anyone here knows of any solution for that?

I'll definitely be sure to track down that thing for whenever I get a 3DS! Thanks for the heads up.

That would be due to the weight of the DSi XL. As its much larger than any other model, it's also heavier. My solution for Playing the DSi is what they recommend in the manual - play ti on a flat surface such as a table or desk. It takes some time to get used to playing it without your fingers curling around the back of the system, but once you do finger finger goes away. This is also the ideal way of playing games that require a lot of touch screen input.

I saw another wheel similar to this at Best Buy today, made by Memorex surprisingly.

Just another option if anyone is interested.
