First party WHITE Playstation one controller? NOT DUELSHOCK!

Post by loganm187 »

At my local game shop today I came across a Sony first party ORIGINAL playstation controller. No analog sticks or duelshock just the plain ole' original controller but white instead of grey...I have never seen or heard of this before. Any info? Japanese?

There is no SCPH number for such an item. If you see it again, note the SCPH model number on the back.

The Digital controller was released in several colors by Sony
I have a white, red and transparent black.
I think there are other color, but can't remember which ones.

I saw what the TC saw within the past week. There were many colors of PS1 controllers, and it just happens to match the PSone.

So i take it is not rare? I can't find it online anywhere. And the SCPH model number is the same as the plain grey. All colors seem to have the same SCPH number.

I thought Net Yaroze was the only way to get a digital controller in other colors?

It appears there were some SCPH-1080 controllers in white. This was available before Sony started the colour model number scheme of adding letters to the end of the SCPH number.

i saw a charcoal-colored dualshock PS1 controller recently. it was definitely a PS1 controller due to the lack of the DualShock 2 logo and the gray cord/plug. but the controller casing was a very dark grey.

They're pretty common, and fairly easy to come by. I preferred that controller when playing any 2-D PS1 game. It feels real nice and lightweight, so definitely pick one up. Super easy to maintain.
