Winston-Salem auction, unofficial RB meet up(you missed it)

Post by Majors »

Modman, Dr. Cirno, the7k and me all met up at the arcade auction last week. Blah blah blah, here is what we got:
vurtua racing
neo geo single slot w/ bust-a-move
metal slug 6
BLAST CITY!

Lost ark video games picked up a Mario bros pinball, outrun 2 sp and Jurassic park(gun game).

All in all, successful auction.

Cannot speak for the others, but the Blast City was $176 all said and done. The monitor *was* working earlier in the day:

...but the old Nanao MS9 gave out during the day. I know this is common for this finicky CRT so it's troubleshooting time! I happen to have the needed harness that I used in another cab and a spare beatup Astro City control panel that will work for the time being. I'm gonna have to dump some more money into the refurb, so that $176 could end up closer to $400, but still cheaper than shipping one from the West coast or overseas.

Full size pic's here.

Virtua Racing machine is mine. Snagged it for $10. Heavy as hell. Hopefully I can get it working with maybe a bit of help from Majors.

All in all the day at the auction was fun, hope to enjoy the next and hoping to bring more money. ;D
Boy I tell you what, are those some god dang video games?

Man I wish I would have known about this auctions. There is one in my state in a couple of weeks. How often do they come around? I will have to keep an eye on them.

I got the Metal Slug 6 with the sexy VGA monitor and Capcom Control Panel for $225, which came to just under $270 after taxes and buyer's fees.

If the monitor can accept non-VGA, I'll be turning it into a SFA3. If it can only accept VGA, then I'll be turning it into a MvC2.

I also saw a XvSF in a really nice cab go for $225, and a MvC1 in a cab similar to my MS6 go for $150. Both had monitor issues, though, so I definitely feel mine was the better buy - especially if the MS6 is legit, as the game alone apparently goes for more than what I paid for the entire cab.

Dan from Lost Arc picked up SMB Pinball for $900, sold his Rocky & Bullwinkle pinball for $1350, and picked up Lost World for (I believe...) $400. I'd like to know how much he paid for OutRun 2 SP, as I missed that.

Other things I saw:
Die Hard Arcade with working monitor went for $30. The game itself was messed up, but the monitor was working, so I don't honestly see why it went for so low.

Crisis Zone went for $5. Granted, it was messed up, but still, $5 for a Crisis Zone. Even if the repairs end up being too damn much to bother with, you only lost $5.

You noticed that also? Never heard of a mirrored CP...nothing that a little plexi and a drill can't take care of.

It was Auction Games Sales, the TN auction company.

I guess it would work well for a dedicated Puzzle Bobble or Money Idol Exchange box, but it is just odd.

I didnt know of Auction Game Sales, looks like I am traveling to more auctions in the future. Ill get a Candy yet Majors. That and SNK vs Capcom MVS, I just dont know which will cost more.

Plus in Winston, you get to hang out with me! As for "your" candy...as long as I do not have more cash-in-hand than you :) (I need 18 eventually, so I can fill a box truck).

I picked up a Chaos for $50 when I got my second Versus, but it was the PCB version. It broke a bit a go and I never bothered to see about fixing it.
