one night out of the week just for gaming
one night out of the week just for gaming
I was just curoius if anyone has one night out of the week away from work, wife and kids and chores just to play games and relax? For me it's usually the first night that I have off from work and I play my modded xbox and play mame or hook up the nes and spend some time trying to beat a game that I own. Usually it's only an hour or so but it pays off if you had a bad week. I also run and go to the gym and I'm sure that helps also

I usually set Thursday night for me and hobbies. However if I have a bad day at work, I will go home and hit up a friend or three and blow through an hour of an FPS. Recently it has been Left 4 Dead 2, lots of dead zombies.

probably only play a few hours a week. with work, kids, stuff to do around the house, and i lift weights 4 days a week, just no time.
besides, anything over an hour a 2 at one time and the wife starts bitching.
moral of that story? marry a gamer.

I run with nerds, so we set aside a Thu/Fri/Sat (we're very inconsistent geeks) for gaming. Tuesdays if you're running a campaign.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Like most people here, I play mostly on my nights off, which is Sunday and Monday for me.
I'll play a little bit during the week, but usually i'm busy with stuff besides work.

After work and chores, I usually spend time with the wife and dog to go on walks or bike rides (I know, I sound like a lame date). When I get time to play games, unfortunately it's not more than an hour, which makes it difficult to play my favorite games, which usually take 30 minutes to make progress. I'd say Saturday mornings, for my entire life, have been "the gaming time". Not in to new cartoons (B&B aside) so Saturday presents a few hours I can take out to game and really enjoy (and enjoy the time I certainly do). Nothing like opening up the windows, letting a cool breeze in, and throwing down on Zillion II on a Saturday morning.mas wrote:I was just curoius if anyone has one night out of the week away from work, wife and kids and chores just to play games and relax?
I read this as:mas wrote: I play my modded xbox and play mame or hook up the nes and spend some time trying to beat a game that I own.

I was about to suggest a list of better NES games

Re: one night out of the week just for gaming
I can usually squeeze in about an hour a day, usually less. I'm generally pretty tired after all the work, school, Japanese studies, farming, etc. Plus, my wife tends to get angry if I disappear into the game room for too long, so I find myself playing a lot of DS/PSP so we can hang out together. She tends to go to bed really early, even on weekends, so I like to have marathon sessions on Friday and Saturday nights, like 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM.
