What gaming project do you want to see?
Ok so I'm trying to figure out my next project and don't know what direction to go in and need some feedback. I have it narrowed down to
A system encyclopedia (ie master system, turbo grafx)
A generic "best 25 obscure games" book
Another stab at a monthly mag
Another run of a classic gaming show
So what interets you guys? What would you like to see? What is there a demand for?

Re: What gaming project do you want to see?
I always enjoy watching some good retro videos. I've been thinking about starting up something similar myself.
As a runner up, a "top 25 obscure games" would be entertaining as well.
Looking forward to seeing what you choose!

I like looking through system encyclopedias myself.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Yep. The goal would be to have massive entries for each game (10-12 pages each). 5-7 thousand word writeups, tons of screenshots, etc. The book just wouldn't be a list of obscure games, but rather a celebration of them.

A complete Encyclopaedia Ludica Visualis.

Though you are a skilled videographer, your Master System Guide was pretty awesome. Expanding from that would be amazing.

I vote for book, too. And I prefer console specific. The whole "25 most obscure..." thing just sounds like an elongated blog post to me.

Re: What gaming project do you want to see?
Ok, so it seems like the encyclopedia idea is winning the voting. Now, as far as specifics on what you'd like to see. My current plan for the encyclopedia is just that, to make it into a full on encyclopedia. Ideally I'd like to make it into a multiple volume set. The reviews would be as long as they need to be (no artificial word count caps). The goal would be to have an average page count of about 8-10 per game (with games like Phantay Star having 15-20 page entries while Joe Montana Football having 3-4). There would also be two or three versions of the set. An expensive full color version, a cheaper black and white version, and a bare bones text version. I'm trying to find the happy medium between hardcore and consumer friendly.
Now as far as what you'd like to see in the entries for games. Screenshots are a given, but would you want to see scans of the box/manual artwork? Other ancillary artwork associated with the games (ads, etc). Initial critical review ratings (when I can find them. For example "EGM rated xxx game 8 out of 10"). Cheat Codes? Anything else that should be included?
