Agreed with it all, and even though I play Railworks the amount of DLC is obscene.

They seem to be really hit or miss with their video game articles. I can agree with a lot of it, but Contra being the number 2 impossibly difficult game is dumb. That, and Cracked sometimes uses screenshots from sequels and prequels to games they mention. It's about cheap laughs, which is fine, but the actual video game knowledge from the writers is more than lacking.Pulsar_t wrote:http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-10-most ... -money-for

God, let's not start this argument again.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Any kind if DLC is stupid. If you have some good shit that might benefit players, put it in the actual game. I've never payed for DLC and purposely avoid games that contain copious amounts of it.
Same here. This has got to be the #1 worst problem with the video game industry.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Any kind if DLC is stupid. If you have some good shit that might benefit players, put it in the actual game. I've never payed for DLC and purposely avoid games that contain copious amounts of it.

I realize that the pic was a "get your popcorn ready" reference, but I at first took it to be a very clever analogy:noiseredux wrote:Inazuma wrote:Same here. Sorry, I'm new-ish here so I'm not familiar with thee ol' Racketboy arguments. I don't despise all things downloadable. Patches and fixes are nice, as are free additions to games. "Pay 5 bucks for the faster car" nonsense needs to die, however.MrPopo wrote:God, let's not start this argument again.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Any kind if DLC is stupid. Wow, that IS a good analogy. The key phrase here is "as long as the game stands on its own without it". If we can give the game to someone who doesn't know DLC exists for it and they feel it was a full experience all the way through then the DLC is benign. If our hypothetical player feels like something is missing or incomplete then this is a game damaged by DLC.dsheinem wrote:I realize that the pic was a "get your popcorn ready" reference, but I at first took it to be a very clever analogy:
DLC, to me, is like extra stuff that you can choose get (or not) after you buy the game. You came to play the game, but while there you were enticed to buy some other things to enhance the experience - much like movie theater popcorn after buying the movie ticket. I don't believe that DLC "should have been included in the game" - that argument is invalid as long as the game stands on its own without it. DLC episodes, skins, cash etc. are just extras that you can take or leave, and if not having them ruins your enjoyment of the game because it makes it feel "incomplete" to you than you have a problem. You might be the kind of person who CAN'T enjoy a movie without some popcorn on your lap. Don't blame the companies for selling what people are willing to buy.
