Action Replay with Sega Saturn Problem

I'm running the Action Replay 4M unit with my 8000 series Sega Saturn. My problem is when I turn on the system some how it registers the down button on the controller. I have tried both plugging and not plugging in the controller to elimate the problem to no avail.

The only solution is to pull out the battery on then it will work fine. I have also replaced the battery and the system holds date and time just fine.

Does it happen with the controller in either port? Do you have another controller to see if it does the same?

It happens if any or no controller is plugged in.

Ah, I thought you meant if you plugged the controller in after switching on, it started doing the down thing at that point. I read too much into what you said. Maybe disassemble and clean the outer ports and clean and replug where the ports connect to the motherboard? Could also try firing the Saturn up with the ports disconnected to isolate if the problem is there or not.

It only happens when the Action Replay is plugged in. All NTSC games work fine ...

Narrowed down to the Action Replay unit itself. Took out my back up Saturn and still having the same problem. Must be something inside.

let me have all the specs on your saturn and action replay, trying to recreate this.

Model number, type, does the AR have the parallel port? what controllers are you using?
