I picked up a copy of the original Final Fantasy for the NES recently. As you'd probably know, it was never released in Europe hence why this is an NTSC-U/American cartridge.
However, it still fits and works in my PAL NES...Does anyone know why this is?
Strange oddity about my NES...
Re: Strange oddity about my NES...

I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
Re: Strange oddity about my NES...
It would always fit regardless as they are physical the same cartridge shells.
Did you buy the NES secondhand? Someone might have all ready done the mod for you (I bought my NES, opened it up to mod it, and it was all ready cut). It was fairly common to mod the NES during its life not only to play imports months ahead of release dates, but it was always said as a way to fix the blinking NES problem.

All you need to do is disconnect the 10NES Chip and pow, your NES is region free. So like the above poster said if you bought a used NES someone must have already done this.
