finding a japanese ps1?

What's the best way to play a japanese ps1 game? I have a US fat ps2, a modded ps2 is about 200, seems like I can get a japanese ps2 for about 100, any other options? If anyone's interested, I have a Japanese dreamcast I might trade for a Japanese ps2.

Yamatoku on ebay sells PS1-J consoles for like $10 plus shipping pretty routinely. Shipping is a bear on 1 item, but add a few games or a saturn or something, and the surface (sea mail) ship rate is pretty solid.

A DC-J for a PS2-J is a bit skewed though, prob have to add about $30+ w/your DC-J for a PS2-J.

Yeah, they should be cheap on ebay or Japan retro gaming sales sites. They are literally dirt cheap over in Japan, so they should not be expensive. Maybe $10-30 for one, depending on condition, if it is loose or has cables/controllers, etc. More if boxed, of course. Shipping is expensive if you use EMS, but substantially cheaper if you use sea shipping (my recommendation).
