Holy water + triple shot. That's how you beat the game easily. It freezes the bosses. Though I'm proud to say I've beaten the game without using the holy water "cheat" (not including Dracula's second form).

You really should try CV, it's such a great NES game. It'll be hard to compare the two games though. NG is very fast paced, CV will seem like you're crawling in comparison.

I use to think the same thing about CV though when I first played it. They games are very similar to the way you have to work them. You notice after a while, if you do the same exact thing every time, the same things will happen every time. Every once in a while you'll get thrown a wild cart, but for the most part, once you "learn" how to get through a part, you can do it that way every time. I'm talking about both CV and NG here.
I've played and beaten CV more times that I can remember, but I only played NG for the first time the other day. I've already gotten up to the second form of the last boss, and it didn't take that much effort. CV, on the other hand, I remember thinking that I'd NEVER be able to beat it. It might just be that I sucked at video games back then, and that I'm better now. But I honestly don't know which one is harder.
