Hello fellow racketboy members i was just wondering what is the best game disc repair website because i recently purchaesed a rather pricey copy of panzer dragoon saga off of ebay and it doesnt work. I found a website called discrepairservice.com but i dont wana trust anybody with this game. The game boots up but 20 minutes in the game it stops running ive used toothpaste and wiped it off good with a soft cloth but it still does it. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check for disc rot? Hold the disc against a light and see if there are any holes.

Wow that is what it is now what to do with a junk copy of pds lol i checked my other games and noticed i have a copy of guardian heroes that has a spot on it but it still works good but disc 1 of pds has like 4 spots on it and disc 3 has a few so what would be the best way to prevent this make sure you take good care of them?

Some games will work fine because the spot will be in a unused area. I don't think you can stop disc rot except for taking good care of your games at room temperature, low humidity, no direct sunlight, so on...

I also read somewhere that you should keep your disc based games vertical to avoid warping or something like that, not too sure about it though.

I take mine to the local Play n' Trade for disc buffing. I know disc buffing has gotten a bad rep over leaving swirl marks. The machines my two local stores have are amazing, leave discs looking brand new. I've even saved a few games that had fatal scratches.

As long as the store keeps up with replacing the pads it should clean a disc up nicely.

I wouldn't trust sending a game to some website to buff a disc. Seems way to sketchy to me.

I want one of those machines. It would really help but the good ones are quite expensive since most of them are business oriented.

BTW, it's www.discrepairservice.com. Anyway, I've used them before and they were fine. There was one disc that could not be repaired and I got a refund.

I wish I had a service like that available in my area Maybe investing in a machine would not be a bad idea then I could help pay for it by offering disc repairs.

Sounds to me like the person you bought from never played the game. What you're experiencing are pin holes, not disc rot. Pin holes are almost always like that from factory.

Disc rot looks brownish, like rust.
