So there is going to be a council pick-up where I live soon and it's the first since I started collecting. There isn't much out yet (I've only spotted three printers and a monitor so far) but hopefully it will pick up soon.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has ever had one where they live and scored some retro goodness for free?

Re: Council Pick-Ups?
I found a PS1 and a PS2 with a couple controllers (Went to my little sister) bunch of cables for both, Croc for PS1, Point Blank 2 for PS1, also was some N64 hookups and power supply but no console or games, I imagine someone got there before I did but did not look where I did (I saw the PS1's RCA's hanging out of a bag so I looked).
It's rare to find stuff, but it never hurts to look through people garbage.

Nice finds, I don't understand how people can just trash stuff when it works. Especially semi newer stuff like the PS2.
Coincidently I found my copy of Croc laying on the road.

Re: Council Pick-Ups?
Had school friends pick up a C64 and disk drive from someone's trash when I was at school. They were on their nightly dog walk. A previous co-worker fished a working PS2 fat (that was in a clear bag) out of the dumpster at his apartment for me.

Re: Council Pick-Ups?
A council pick-up? Is that like a gathering of certain members of a group? Everyone gets together and then buys/trades games together?
Or does the council decide on what everyone is supposed to buy, and then everyone goes and buys it? Sorta sounds like Racketboy's Together Retro idea.
OP, are you a member of this council? What's it like?

Re: Council Pick-Ups?
A council pickup is a day organized by your local council, usually held twice a year in which everyone in your suburb can through out there hard rubbish (Furniture, Beds, things that are too big for a normal bin) and a truck comes by on that day and picks everything up.

Re: Council Pick-Ups?
I found a 20 dollar bill in my church elevator one time. It was about to fall in between the crack of the elevator and the door. My mom was like "Are you going to put that in the offering?" I said "Yeah I'm gonna offer it to Gamestop." Don't really know if this counts as a "Council Pick-Up" but I thought I would share my story.
