Yes.
C-Stick: Pikmin- Controls Pikmin following the character. Zelda- Controls camera.
Z-Button: Pikmin- I think changes the camera altitude. Zelda- You can assign an item to the Z, X, and Y buttons (like the other Zelda games).
D-Pad: Pikmin- ? I don't remember. I think it's used but I don't think it's necessary. Zelda- Used for minor menu selections.

Luigi's Mansion. It uses every single button on the Gamecube controller.

Pikmin uses d pad down to lay olimar down. it's not essential
Smash Bros Melee uses c stick for quick smash attacks, Z for grab and d pad up for a taunt. Smash Bros Brawl does the same but uses all 4 main d pad directions for different taunts. The C stick can also be used to move the angle of the menu screens around.
Metroid Prime on gamecube uses the d pad and c stick for visor and gun selection.

I usually use fighting games. Doesn't Soul Calibur 2 list your inputs on the bottom of the screen in training mode? I love that feature for Tekken 3
