Hot Fuzz, FINALLY saw it
and all I can say is, "SWWAAAAANNN!!"
LOL, don't think a movie made me laugh so hard since Team America:World Police. The film's final act alone is worth the price of admission.
Fascist!
Hag!

*vaugeness to preserve movie for people who haven't seen it* I loved the sceen where he was on the horse. And the one where the guy is shot and the place is blown up. Oh! and when the guy is in the bar with the fork, that was hilarious.

I think Shaun of the Dead was more character driven, but Hot Fuzz made me laugh more(plus it had lots of action). I like both movies.
And yeah, the riding on the horse part was great. In fact, that scene is where the movie kicked into high gear. I was in stitches from that point onward and the action was just fantastic. Hot Fuzz has a bit of a slow build, all leading up to an awesome final act. Kind of like that martial arts movie Sha Po Lang(Kill Zone to Americans). Both movies are entertaining from beginning to end, but the final acts are the best parts.
What surprised me about Hot Fuzz was that it seemed to cross into other genre territory a few times. A few slasher flick moments and one or two surprising gory moments and the revelation scene was a bit creepy.
Hope none of that was spoilery, though anyone reading this topic should have seen it already I think
I like the stuff these guys put out. I may have to start getting into watching Spaced. They have episodes on youtube it seems.
Oh, and never heard of Disaster. Guess I'll look into it. I love South Park, so Team America World Police was a no brainer for me and I really enjoyed it. The team's theme song is hilarious. I won't get into my favorite bits as this thread is about Hot Fuzz

I loved this movie. If I ever get a HDDVD player for my 360, this, 300, and blue planet are the movies I'm getting it with. It was simply hilarious. I think the fat guy was funnier this time than he was in Shaun of the Dead. Shaun of the Dead was alright, but honestly, this movie is just plain hilarious. I think the most interesting part of this movie is the pacing. The way it was advertised, I was expecting for their to be some sort of action from the getgo, but instead it all unravels, piece by piece. It's a work of wonders really. The anticipation for when everything just explodes in a rain of bullets gets to you and really makes the wait worth it.

Some more random, cool and funny lines. Keeping this vague still for those who haven't seen it
F*** off grasshopper!
By the power of Greyskull!
Morning
I feel like I should say something smart
Course he f***** was! Thank you Danny!
Bang! Bang!(That really cracked me up)
LOL, you know something about this movie and Shaun of the Dead makes me think of Joss Whedon. The way he could pay homage to and mock a genre at the same time, though he usually didn't go quite as far into the realms of farce and comedy as these movies do since his shows couldn't stray too far from the drama. Though there were exceptions(anyone remember Puppet Angel?)
