How to stick a Modchip to a PCB without damaging it ?

hi RB scene , im think of getting some Xeno GC modchips for my Gamecubes.

What i dont want to do is solder it straight to the DVD Drives Daughter Board as its supposed to , i would like to solder wires to the Chip then solder the other ends to the appropriate places on the DB.

What i need help with is how can i stick the Modchip to the DB without destroying it ?..........one scenario is if i want to remove the Chip the tracks/traces could be ripped up when the Chip is removed.

isolation tape or electrical tape all around the chip after you soldered the points, this is so you can prevent shorts if the chip's metal is touching the DB. after than i think you can take the chip to a flat surface on the DB.

howdy vlame thanks for replying , roger that on all tips..........i do a similar job as you described when i have installed my mods into my Sega Saturns so its familiar territory.
