It seems that there was a fatal design flaw in the Panasonic Q, in which the drive can easily break away from the chassis with the slightest jolt. Nonetheless, does anyone know how to replace the open/close belt on the drive? I have 2 now that do not open, but have broken belts that appear to be impossible to replace due to a rivet in the way.
Does anyone know a fix, or hell even a place to buy just a replacement drive? I wish gamecube drives weren't fliptop, as i don't care about the DVD functionality...being i own zero Japanese dvds.
Panasonic Q drive question
Re: Panasonic Q drive question
tweezers or a pair of needle-nosed pliers. grab the belt with them and carefully pop it in place. this is why i prefer gear driven trays. belts fucking suck. also, you may be able to steal a replacement from a CDROM drive if it has the same size belt, thats what i did for an xbox that had a tray problemskere26 wrote:It seems that there was a fatal design flaw in the Panasonic Q, in which the drive can easily break away from the chassis with the slightest jolt.
