Minish Cap Versions

Post by Gnashvar »

I was browsing Ebay for Minish Cap GBA carts and I found different colors for the cart sticker. I'm guessing some of these are pirate carts but two versions stood out, a red label which I think it's the original and a green version I'm not too sure about.

A pack with the green version...

see how the green one's AGB number ends with "EUR"? That means it's from Europe.

EDIT: a quick google search agrees with me: AGB-BZMP-EUR. Published by. Nintendo of Europe

when it comes to GBA variants (or any GB/GBC for that matter) it's almost always as easy as googling the number on the label. Often what you THINK is a variant is just a bootleg. But also you'll find regional differences, like this.

Never thought of doing that. You're right!

Noise - This is a fantastic guide by the way. It helped me to identify two of my GBA carts as pirates, and ever since reading it, I do not purchase a GBA game without checking the for the "Nintendo" name just above the pins.

EDIT: I am now tempted to go out and buy the coolest bootlegs that I can find. I know a flea market near Charlotte has a bootleg GBA cart with just NES Contra Force on it. It has a great looking label with a detail of the NES box art; so, to me, this like a "lost" GBA NES Series cart. I will definitely pick it up the next time I am out that way (assuming that it is still there).
