Recommend me a chiptunes musician

Post by J T »

I've been getting into chip tunes music lately after hearing FantomenK being used in Nathan Barnatt's videos and after one of Gamerforlife's threads introduced me to Anamanaguchi. I've also downloaded a bunch of stuff by Nullsleep. Now I want more!

I mostly like the stuff where the chiptune instruments are part of a larger set of real instruments and modern electronics, which is partly why FantomenK and Anamanaguchi appeal to me. So, who else do you guys recommend?

And for anyone else just getting into this genre of music, here are two essential links:

Zen Albatross

Awesome guy and finally got to see him perform live at PAX East.
He's also written some Gameboy articles for the site.

I think Anamanaguchi's now classified as Chip-Pop? (Mixing instruments with synth-chips. A lotta band are popping up, like Disasterpeace or ComputeHer.)

Personally like Bit Shifter and Animal Style. My friend raves about nullsleep, but I've never seen them perform live.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.
