3rd Party PS3 Repair Services?

Post by Lo0kY »

I just recently got a PS3 just the other week ago for 40 bucks from my cousin. I made the research on what the problem is and happens to be the YLoD (Yellow Light of Death). Was wondering whats the best place to send it to (Besides $ony) get it repaired.

Was looking at Gopher Mods but they have mix reviews. As well as some other places...

I just did one myself, in fact its just cooling off now. Hopefully the thing works and isnt toast as it isnt mine.

Its not a difficult repair, so long as you can use a screwdriver, hold a heat gun and follow instructions then you should be ok. For a $40 PS3 its worth a go I reckon

Oh hell yeah it is!! Taking it apart was the easy part, but when I got done doing the reflowing and had to put it all together again I kinda panicked. It was a success besides me frying the wireless board (which I ordered a new one) to replace the old. Using a PSX to USB apadtor on the PS3 and playing PS2 games works great.
