GBA SP: design flaw?

I was thinking on how in order for it to remain a compact player (GBA carts) it also has GB games sticking out toward you from the cart slot. Weird...

Not sure that I understand the design flaw. It's compact if you use GBA carts. Nothing can be done about the form factor for GB/GBC cartridges.

The original GBA had GB/C carts stick out of it too. So I don't think its a design flaw at all. To keep the system compact it has too be that way.
