Super Mario Sunshine 3D - Could it happen?

Post by Rayban »

Do you think that we could see Super Mario Sunshine on the 3DS, similar to the Mario 64 on the DS? It seems that the hardware could handle the graphics quite nicely.
What do you think?

I hope not. :|

Ports, remakes, demakes, it's gotta stop. I've played all this shit before Nintendo, please, for the love of all that is good, give us some NEW games.

(Super Mario Sunshine sucks anyway.) 8)

The control was better and more fluid, but the overall game .. not really, to be honest. However, I always appreciate when Nintendo gives me something new to try. :)

The reason I ask is because every time I see someone say "I don't like Sunshine" they usually praise Galaxy. If you pay attention to the level design, you can tell that a lot of inspiration for Galaxy came from Sunshine.

I didnt like Sunshine, but I enjoyed Galaxy. It wasn't the level design, but i didnt really care for the whole water crap, it felt really gimmicky to me. Its been years since I played it though, so a second chance might be in order. as far as Super Mario Sunshine 3D, I just don't see it, because Sunshine wasn't praised nearly as much as Super Mario 64.

Oh, absolutely. The level design in Sunshine is good, except for some of those totally miserable difficult parts. I'm one of those people that had trouble with the FLUDD. It's bizarre, hard to control properly especially with that bastard camera, and about 1/2 way through the game, not even particularly fun. If the game had just been a platformer...

Luigi's Mansion was brilliant, a) because Luigi got some prime time, and b) because he's not in the spotlight as much as Mario, there was freedom to experiment with the game mechanic. Porting a similar (blow instead of suck?) mechanic over to Mario just didn't work well for me.
