I have an NEC XM29 Plus I got recently and when using the S-video inputs (SNES & PS2) it will randomly emit a high pitch squeal. It does it randomly so it isn't horrifyingly annoying but it still grates my ears pretty bad. Is this normal? I think its outputting at 15khz. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?
Its still bad enough I may pursue a solution for converting the signal to the VGA or BNC inputs because those don't emit any sound at all.

How is the pic? Maybe a Degauss might help.

I'll give it a try as soon as it does it again. Since I made this post it hasn't made the noise.CRTGAMER wrote:How is the pic? Maybe a Degauss might help.
The pic is great on it. Its been quite a while since I played on a CRT and its so much cleaner looking than on the HDTV. It uses a shadow mask and makes pretty thick scanlines but I sit about 10 feet from the tv so it looks perfect. I've got it sideways atm playing shmups on the PS2.

Degauss didn't have any effect. I can't think of anything to do other than find ways to convert everything to the VGA or BNC ports. Its kind of obnoxious popping in and out pretty quick sometimes.
