question
I have a place in town where I can purchase a 9-pin Famicom to USB converter
on that note, I have no interest in Famicom controllers
but would it be possible to use a C-64/Amiga/Atari joystick through this port?
'tis the same kind of port, but it's two very different kinds of controllers

No luck, Famicom is a 15 pin. You could make an adaptor cable, C64 is all digital.

It could be for pirate famiclone controllers imo, as most I've dealt with have been nine-pin. Not that there's many worth converting to usb though. You could always make an adapter as mentioned, I'm sure there's famiclone pinouts out there. With a properly wired adapter it could probably use Nes or legit Famicom accessories but that's extra work.

There's one here that should do everything you mentioned except Famicom. Since you said you didn't care about them...
http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/atari2usb/Raphael's products are well made.
It's relatively easy and cheap to made an adapter to connect those types of controllers to a parallel printer port.
