What other 2D game should be remade like SF2 Turbo HD?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

What other 2D game should be remade like SF2 Turbo HD?

Post by kinn »

Seeing images of the new SF2 Turbo HD remake makes me wonder what else should be remade in HD? He is what I think off the top of my head:

Landstalker
Secret of Mana
Zelda - Link to the Past
Sonic 1/2
Final Fight

What do you guys think?

I personally want samsho 5 special. That'd be freakin sweet. Mebe a samsho 7, which would simply have every character in it, mebe a couple more. According to the blog that racketboy posted, for something like SF2 turbo, it seems much easier to do something like that, so if they could pull off something like samurai shodown, I'd be really impressed. That, and a HD Parodius game with redone graphics.

I'd normally say the Sonic games, but I know Sega would remake them using the "modern" Sonic style.
As much as I love Sonic Rush, I don't want Sonic 2 looking like it.

I say Mega Man 2. The original Mega Man already has a kickass revival in the form of Powered Up for the PSP, so if we're to be denied a Powered Up 2, then a HD Mega Man 2 would be the next best thing.

Beyond that I'd love to see HD versions of Super Mario World, Kirby Super Star, and the original Castlevania.

Yeah Samsho would be a good one to redo. Always loved the series's big chunky character sprites. Would look excellent! "Victoly!"

Splatter House
Nemo in Dreamland

And a few non obscure :D

Sonic the Hedgehog
Chrono Trigger
TMNT arcade games
Simpsons arcade game
Smash TV

Yeah I understand what you mean. Although I would love to see Sonic 2 be given a HD remake.

I just hope that this SF2 HD remake is the begining of a new trend.

Virtually every game I loved as a kid. This is ganna be a long thread.

I dunno, if I had to pick one, maybe Kirby's Adventure. If that entire game had 4x the resolution and higher color count, and retained the animation level or improved it, it would be so beautiful. That game's atmosphere was already so magical, but...wow.

Oh and yeah it was remade on GBA, but obviously without being in higher resolution...technically. Just more colors and animation.

Wow that is a good choice!
Metroid series is another one that would be practical.
