As much as I love the Metal Slug series, I have to choose Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves as my overall favorite

The Last Blade series has my vote, it's like Fatal Fury and Samurai Showdown combined, and I like that.

Yeah Last Blade is pretty cool.
I still have yet to get a good feel for those games and Samurai Shodown.
I'm so use to weaponless fighters

Samurai Showdown Series, King of The Monsters 2, Sengoku, Aero Fighters Series are the best off the top of my head.

In my MVS two slot is Samura Showdown 2 and Last Blade 2.

I like most of the ones mentioned here.
I kinda like waku waku 7 and Twinkle Star Sprites. My friends and I play Metal Slug together and lose money on the arcade version.

Metal Slug series is great fun, I like the Strikers 1945 games as well.

Last Blade is my all time favorite. Neo Geo was and still is one of the best IMO.

I go for early KOF games and Super Dodge Ball, I'm a Kunio fan, but i haven't got the AES emulator for DC to work
