i'm not a fan of leveling up or having to fight to earn money, but i really like this game so far. i like how you walk really fast by default, and when you run into a wall, you continue walking in another direction (at some points i find the game guiding ME to where i need to go!), it's great it you just feel like holding down a single direction button. also, the simplicity of the game itself is great. story and exploration are what i like about rpgs

which version you playing?
This is my all time favorite RPG ever. Got it for my Sega CD back as a kid, and been hooked ever since. I own the SCD, Saturn, PS, and GBA versions and beat them ritually. Actually this week my buddy Justin and I pulled out for another go again on the PS (Saturn is only in Jap, so we went for the PS version instead).

Never could get into Lunar. Not enough strategy, and too much boring grinding.

i'm playing the sega cd version. i really am loving that system! as for lunar, i like the minor amount of strategy, like deciding who will attack what monster and your characters speed rating determining who goes first. yeah, i really like to keep it simple. also, 16-bit graphics have generally always been my favorite and i always preferred the limited palette of the genesis as opposed to super nes, they just seem brighter and more lively

I'll give the series props for it's music at least. Those remastered sampler cds from the playstation versions are fantastic. Theres some excellent battle music in there.

The ability to walk fast makes such a big difference. I'm trying to get through Dragon Warrior IV on the NES. arghhhhh!

i played earthbound zero (mother) and went through nearly the entire game before realizing you could hold down a button on the overworld screen to walk faster! but, i did use the speed up feature in nesterdc before then, so it wasn't all THAT slow

i just hate when i'm trying to talk to an npc and i keep walking around them cuz i'm going too fast
