After taking my Saturn apart to install a mod-chip I foolishly moved house with it in a disassembled state, after finally going through the last of my stuff the screws are still nowhere to be found. Does anyone know what kind of screws these are? If someone who has a Saturn could measure and/or photograph theirs it would be awesome.
cheers
Console screws.
Re: Console screws.
I took a Saturn screw to Home Depot once and couldn't find a match. I think I couldn't find a thread wide enough on a screw that small. It kinda sucks.

Re: Console screws.
Don't have a Saturn so unsure. Is there metal or plastic that the screws threads into?
If plastic then likely a self tapping screw will fit, a slight different thread pitch okay, will bite in.
Machine Screw - has to be exact diameter and thread pitch for metal.

Self Tapping Screw - slight taper with point on the end, will bite into plastic.

From memory I think it was machine screws. The self-tappers would probably chew the plastic up to much.

Wait a minute, if its plastic inside, then the metal screws are self tappers! Any Saturn owners out there can confirm?Zutroy wrote:From memory I think it was machine screws. The self-tappers would probably chew the plastic up to much.

Re: Console screws.
Outer diameter on the threads are .115 inches or so. Model 1 screws are .4 inches long. Model 2 are .5 inches long.

A handy reference from the real thing! So do the screws thread into plastic or metal?Hobie-wan wrote:Outer diameter on the threads are .115 inches or so. Model 1 screws are .4 inches long. Model 2 are .5 inches long.
Zutroy, maybe look in automotive stores for metric self tapping screws.
