Medal Of honor

Post by lost_within »

Well I went out last night and picked this up and played for a few hours BUT....

Did anyone else run into a code reading "EA servers are down try again later?"

I would play for about 15 minutes, then get kicked, play for 15 minutes, and again kicked. Did EA really release a game, know ALOT of people were out to play it and NOT have a freaking server setup properly?

I have yet to get into the story which I plan on doing today, but the online play also seemed kinda...blah. Guns seems over powered, there were times I would spawn 4 times in a row dead, due to way over powered weapons and spawn killing. Which is hard to believe, spawn killing on day one? That just sounds like bad design.

I am NOT a CoD whore, though I do really enjoy CoD4, and WaW, but this game would be more comparable to bad company 2, and in this case my personal opinion would be BC2 wins. Maybe it will take time to get used to? maybe an update will work out some fine bugs? But when a game title is this big in nature, shouldnt ALL the bugs be worked out? I guess I just am on a rant. Seemed kinda cool when the servers workd and when I could actually spawn. Now watch the story be as bad BC2, medal of honor better atleast have a good freakin story :x

First of all, I used to play Battlefield 2142. EA sucked about servers then, and I'm not surprised they suck now. Don't bother with their tech support either, it won't help you. As someone who's been down that road, trust me.

As far as the actual game is concerned, did you buy the PC version? It's considered acceptable for a PC version to release a somewhat buggy game and patch it later. Give it a bit, and I'm sure updates will be released to cover the problems.

As for spawn killing, I couldn't say one way or the other, as I don't know how the new MoH handles that stuff. It pisses off everyone, but it's a legitimate tactic. Are you playing deathmatch or team deathmatch? And how large are the maps? If you're playing deathmatch...well, I'm not surprised. Team deathmatch games on the other hand tend to allow spawning behind your team so things like that won't happen, and if they use a spawn point selection system at all like Battlefield, then you should be able to pick a point enemies aren't near. Now, if it happens to be an ally who is team killing...well, spawn at a different point, then gun him down and insult him in some ludicrous manner in team chat.

It was the same the first few weeks of BC2, that's why I didn't preorder this time, gonna play Fallout New Vegas and some Yoshi's Island and wait for things to settle.

I got it on ps3, I played a bit today and it held up WAY better than last night. Didnt play long though wanted to go try the story. Which so far, has been better than BC2. I dont HAVE to play online, its just a perk, so atleast this story has me "in the game" so far.

Last night everything was just so lagged up, kept dropping me, it was just horrible. It wasnt even that many people on, last night the total players in games showed like...3500? thats not alot. I remember when halo 3 one night had 80,000+ and ran flawless, same for resistance 2.

Total game play, on normal is 4-5 hours tops. Online play MIGHT end up being great, and I have still yet to beat it on hard or tier 1 mode which apparently is a speed run timed war I guess?

Reguardless, if your not an online gamer, rent it and call it quits. I hope I dont offend any huge Medal fans BUT...this game was NOT what the hype was all about.

I thought it was going to be the Call of Duty Black Ops killer...I have a feeling its FAR from it.

Wow and its short! This is definitely a rental for me now, but if the online is solid, maybe a purchase.

If you are like me and prefer FPS, meaning you have skill at playing them, yes its short. Some people might die...ALOT, which will of course add game play time just replaying one part for 30 minutes. Reguardless, I am kinda shocked at the hype vs the real game.
