Full Screen Preview When Capturing Video?

Post by ReddMcKnight »

OK, here's the rundown. I have Pinnacle Studio, and a USB Capture Device. However, when capturing video, the preview screen is WAY too small, and I can't seem to find a way to enlarge it. Does anyone know how to make it full screen when using Pinnacle Studio? Perhaps there is a way to output what's on the Monitor to a Big Screen TV? Anything?

There isn't that I am aware of.

What I did was buy a splitter from Radio Shack. Plug the video cable into it and leave one in the TV and one goes to your capture device.

Some other possible solutions:

Change your desktop resolution to something much smaller (640x480 or less) so the small window is displayed much bigger on the screen.

Use dual monitor support if your machine allows it, and move the capture window to a smaller resolution extended desktop on another display.

Record video at a larger resolution - 720x480 is the largest my capture card goes.

Try a different capture program. I've had great success using both Virtual VCR and Vitrualdub.

Capture in DVD quality mode. Go with that splitter to a regular TV. A full screen preview on the PC may take away too much resources resulting in a jittery capture.
