What are the best Sega Genesis/Megadrive Racing games?

Of course, I enjoy Virtua Racing, Road Rash in addition to some Outrun and Micro Machines, but I'm wondering what others I should look into...

Batman Returns for the Sega CD is fantastic, but I can't think of any outstanding genesis games that weren't mentioned.

I used to play Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II for hours. Not sure how it has aged though.

it borders on criminal that the best 16 bit racer has not been mentioned: Virtua Racing (and/or the even better 32x port)!!
