What's going on with my Saturn

Post by Kevman »

So I just got a Sega Saturn Model 2 from a friend. He gave me all the hook ups and Nights into Dreams demo disk. I noticed the save battery is definitely gone because every time I boot it up it asks me to set the time.

When I first turned it on it went right to the CD mode and didn't play the game (but played tracks from the game). It kept doing it until finally it randomly booted the game. I noticed when I press the power button there is a good 1-2 second delay before the green led goes on. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Is your game scratched?

If so, the first thing to troubleshoot is getting another game, it's either disc or lens.

If it's lens it might be dirt, I suggest buying a lens cleaner CD before thinking about replacing it.

As for LED stuff, I know nothing. Never really noticed how mine behaves in that sense.

Game's not too scratched. There is one minor scratch but it's flawless besides that. I think I'll get a lens cleaner CD. Can I just use a generic one for a CD player or is there an official Saturn cleaner?

As for the save issue, have you replaced the battery in the back?

A dead save battery and/or corrupted save memory can make the system act strangely.
