Negura Bunget is probably my favorite black metal band. They just kept getting better with each release until the core members disbanded. The new cd with the drummer as the only original member is surprising descent too.
Other black metal I like; I was a huge Mayhem fanboy and still love all Bathory, even Octagon and Requiem are tolerable to me, (I don't dig his solo stuff though). Hellveto from Poland is amazing consistent and probably my next favorite BM project, check out Stos if you haven't gotten into them. Abigor's first and third cd are classics to me as is Blut Aus Nord's The Work Which Transforms God (I like it more than their first two releases which get a lot of acclaim as well).
I like almost all metal, non black metal I'm a big fan of Benighted, Malignancy, Russian folk metal band Arkona (love them), Therion, darkwave and neo folk/classical, goth rock, etc. I'll check out the bands you named dropped. I can always use more abysmal soul-crushing music.

In the Nightside Eclipse is really the only pure black metal album I like. Borknagar is a really good black/folk band I've been listening to; look up the song "Colossus" - I bet even a few people who don't like metal could find that song enjoyable.

Ot Serdtsa K Nebu is a pretty fantastic album. More bands need to use female vocals like they do.
...Finsterforst...
They're really good, though for some reason they get a good amount of hate (the reason I hear cited most is that their vocals are boring, but I find them to be fine). That being said, they do sound
a lot like Moonsorrow (albeit a tad bit more folk-y), but don't quite measure up. (Moonsorrow is fucking awesome.) Other folk metal I listen to: Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Primordial, Alestorm (pirate metal FTW), Primordial (not sure if I'd quite qualify them as folk metal; I think they refer to themselves as "celtic pagan metal" or something), Equilibrium.

Not a terribly big fan of black metal, but I like a few bands; (although most of these aren't purely black metal)
Windir, Enslaved, Ensiferum, Arkona, Metsatöll, Emperor & Ulver (I fucking love Bergtatt, one of my all-time favourite albums).

I grew out of black metal when I was 16. Such an utterly pointless genre of music. I'm convinced that the only reason 'metal' fans like it, is because it's still fairly obscure so they can be a dick in public by quoting all these obscure black metal bands. Black metal is just crap.

Just because you fail to understand, appreciate or enjoy the music and just because a subsection of the black metal fanbase seems intent on equating obscurity to quality, doesn't mean you should tar everyone with the same brush.

Black metal makes me laugh. Oh sure, you're soooo scary. I appreciate the technical ability it takes to play, but... come on.
