Fallout 3 GOTY installation help

Ok, i got the GOTY edition game...i installed both discs as an administrator after much toiling with the second disc....and theres 3 problems.


1.no shortcuts appeared anywhere for Fallout 3

2.Everytime i log into LIVE it says theres an update...and i updated then went back in and it said the same thing.

3. biggest issue is that even though it's installed and i checked all the boxes in the datafiles on the startup thing.....on the front page downloads still is greyed in.

running windows 7 btw.

Not that this helps you a lot, but the Steam copy of GOTY I picked up last week took 2 updates for the Live stuff to update properly as well. Check and see if your firewall blocked it's outbound communication. I'm on XP Pro, but mine had popped up behind everything.
