XBOX 360 S CAN scratch your CDs

Post by JC48573 »

the scratched cds persist even on the new console according to this link

They do have a warning label that tells you not to move the console. Yea, this is serious business.

Honestly who moves their console while it's on anyhow. Seriously people.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

This is total bullshit. This is proof that the ps3 is better because how the heck am I supposed to play xbox when I am riding my unicycle over potholes? I bought my game system on the basis of this not happening and now I am FURIOUS. I think we should file a class action lawsuit for UNICYCLE RACISM.

i remember living in a very small appartment and had to move my xbox a lot. I once moved it by accident (it was next to my feet) and it completely ruined my gears of war dvd. So yes it's possible to move it...

Anything spinning at DVDs 12x speed will scratch no matter how well you pad the area or whatnot. You can't compare PS3 bluray drive to the 360s directly as they are running at two very different speeds.

Sure it sucks that you can't move a system (with moving parts inside) like you could with older systems that lacked internal moving parts or things that spun at speeds fast enough to damage stuff in its path. The guys who did that dumb thing in the video should have known better. Heck would you pick up a laptop or a PC with a DVD spinning inside of it and start to put it on its side or shake it around while watching a movie? Why would you do the same thing with a game system.

My only complaint is that a slot loader would have been nice to have in the new shiny 360 instead of the tray loader. Oh well, as long as you understand what the retard in the video above did, then you'll make sure not to do the same thing with your own system. This video should be a PSA for common sense.

Well, the disc basically turns into a gyroscope. If you take a flat system or laptop and pick it up vertically or turn it around so someone on the other side of the table can see, that's not a problem. As long as the disc is staying parallel to the ground and isn't moved too fast it will be fine. Just think how a top or gyroscope will stay vertical as long as they're heavy and spinning fast enough. It's when you try to change the angle that you have a problem while the disc is spinning. If all the current gen systems weren't all designed to be flat or vertical and people wouldn't mess with trying to flip them while they're on, it wouldn't be a problem.

My PS2 never scratched my discs up. Nor did my original Xbox
