Original Xbox arcade sticks, what are my options?

Post by porkchop87 »

I keep trying to search for original Xbox arcade sticks, but it's so hard to search anything like Google without getting Xbox 360 sticks as the results...

I'm looking for a stick to use on my hacked Xbox to play my Neo Geo games... ideally it'd be a Hori-like stick. It doesn't matter if the stick is official, 3rd party, or hacked.... I'm looking for any way I can get an arcade experience on my Xbox...

The stick that I have is a Radica Gamester. Circle gate stick with a click at every turn, very precise. I enjoy it when playing Panzer Dragoon Orta. If you're playing a Racing game with it you're SOL because you really need to push down on the "R" button to get it to do anything, and it hurts after a while.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

I have one of these, they're pretty good. All the buttons are microswitched as well as being analogue (!?) and you can detach the stick and swap it out for a ball-top (if that's what you prefer) with an allen-key that slots into the body so you never lose it. A very well designed stick, as well has having a macro function. It's a bit on the small side so you might want to get some strong velcro strips or something similar to attach it semi-permanently to a desk/table. Having it on your lap isn't ideal, but it's definitely the only way to play DOA3 or SFIII:TS.

I have an X-arcade with the xbox adaptor and it's pretty nice.

I have one made by Pelican that you can use on the Xbox, PS2 or Gamecube. I have no idea what's it's called and I can't comment on it because I've never used it so just stating it as an option.

I think this is the best stick by far, but beware. At the time these were sold they had 2 different models. If bought on Nubytechs website you got one with HAPP parts, but if bought at EB Games (the only retail store that sold them) you got cheap Chinese knock off parts. Luckily they can easily be swapped for HAPP parts though.
