Dragonball Z Anime DVD help

Post by MaliceValentine »

Hey iv been meaning to re watch the series for some time, but iv heard a lot of the DVD releases are varied, some have the horrid 4 kids dub, censored and soundtrack, whilst others have English dubbing and Japanese soundtrack.

So anyway can some one direct me in the right way to the best DVD compilation of this series? Id prefer Japanese soundtrack, uncut and with or without English dub. thanks!

I have the season box sets of DBZ like this one.The picture is nice and sharp, but the picture has been cropped to widescreen so that it will look better on a modern LCD. There are two audio channels. One channel is English dialogue with Japanese music in Dolby 5.1. The other channel is original Japanese mono. My favorite feature of these DVDs is that you can select "marathon feature" from the main menu and watch all the way through without stopping for the opening and closing credits.

The other option is the "Dragon Box" DVD sets like this one. The "Dragon Box" sets are marketed at hardcore DBZ fans. The picture is in the original 4:3 aspect ratio. You get the same two audio channels as the other DVD box sets. This DVD set comes in really nice packaging with a reference book called "The Dragon Book".

Hope that helps.
