Xbox 360 Platformers?

Post by darthmunky »

Are there any good platforming games on Xbox 360?
I think the last time I played a good platformer was back on the PS1.

Are you talking about retro, 2-d platformers? Maybe Xplosion man? I know platformer these days generally refers to games like Tomb Raider and Prince of Persia. Platformers in general, seems to be a dying genre.

I meant all platformers in general but I guess I assumed more modern styled ones like Crash Bandacoot or Spyro.

Ah, cutesy mascot platformeers. God I miss those, don't see them anymore, unless you count the Ratchet & Clank games on the PS3. The Lego games are fun though, like Lego Star Wars II and Lego Batman.

You might like Braid, it's 2-d and Mario-ish. Also Mirror's Edge, Tomb Raider Underworld and the last Prince of Persia game are pretty much what pass for modern platformer these days

If you are into the retro-style stuff, you may enjoy some of the following from XBLA.

'Splosion Man
Lucidity
Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond
Shadow Complex
Braid
Megaman 9
Megaman 10
Alien Hominid HD
Bionic Commando: Rearmed
Metal Slug 7
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao

Also, The Maw was a fun little 3D platformer that hearkens back to the days of the N64.

If you have the courage, there's always also the licensed games: Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal, Monsters vs. Aliens, Ratatouille, Wall-E...

It takes real courage and stupidity to wade through those.
