Happy April! Who's playing Qwak? And which version?

So, are you doing Together Retro now and isn't this game a little obscure for Together Retro? You can't even buy it for GBA anymore. Download or Amiga are your only hope.

I'm not "doing" TR, I just started the thread. It might be obscure, but it was released for a lot of platforms. Back when the calendar was decided and announced it was still available for GBA. I bought it then myself.

Way to have foresight noiseredux. Just another gba game for your collection. I bet you had to make your own cover on that one.

actually Ziggy made the cover art. Also, the way it happened was I bought the game, and liked it, realized it was on many other platforms, so I suggested it for TR. There were pages and pages of suggestions and discussion on the upcoming calendar and there were no objections to Qwak back then?

Get off the dudes back, if you dont like it then dont play it. I see him giving more to this site than most others. Play on Noise, I dont have it, dont even know what it is, but play on dude! I bet he is the only one who played through Phantasy Star last month. ( I tried, got screwed when I ordered on Ebay)
To anyone else who has a comment, save it, stay out of the thread unless you have something positive to say. Leave your nasty remarks in you own personal life, NOBODY wants to hear it.
I am so sick of things like this going on, accounts should be banned for this kind of thing. Forums are not for people with shitty lives to unload.

According to Wikipedia, it is available for: BBC Micro, Acorn Electron, Amiga, Amiga CD32, Game Boy Advance
There's also a PC version:
http://www.qwak.co.uk/So while it is a little more obscure than some of the games we've selected, it also appears on more platforms than many that have been featured (e.g. games that only appear on the NES).
You are right - I had no problem with it when we were kicking it around and I have no problem with it now. I intend to play it this month (for either PC or emulated GBA) as I was unable to get very far into Phantasy Star due to many other time sucks.
The game looks very intriguing noise, nice choice.

thanks man... and like I said, back when I suggested it (Nov? Dec?) there were still GBA copies available on the website. How was I to know they'd sell out between now and then? I mean, they had been available since 2006...

Alright, I tried the PC demo to see how it holds up to the Amiga/CD32 version. It may look better but the characters feel like there is even less life in them than the Amiga version, moving bricks is the best way to discribe them. The controls are a lot looser also, which is not a good thing to me. Now this is just the Demo version so I don't know how different it is from the regular release. The GBA port seems a good fit for this game, it seems meant for handhelds to bad only 300 were made
I want the Amiga CD32 version but alas no Amiga CD32, here's to hoping someone sells a NTSC model soon.

maybe you should try to contact Jamie Woodhouse. Or post on the Qwak forums. He might still be able to help you get a cart, or at least a GBA ROM maybe?
