disc based DLC for 360/ps3

Post by nickfil »

Fallout had half of it's DLC on disc. Unfortunately not all of it. I actually prefer buying DLC on disc because then i know that in the future if the service is no longer up, i can still have access to the bonus content.

I was going to pick up the borderlands dlc if it is a disk and not codes. *edit* it is a disk. There will be more borderlands DLC to come after it.

Does anyone know if Dragon Age: Origins Awakening is a disk? *edit* yes.

You guys picking up Disc DLC?

DA:OA is not DLC technically. It is an expansion. I guess it is the same shit though really.

I bought the first two Fallout 3 DLC on disc. I plan to sell off my copy and just but the GotY edition when it drops in price though. Right now I have it for the 360 but I will probably get the PC version to play mods.

I'm probably going to wait for most GOTY editions from now on. Seems that that will be the only way to hedge against the bet that the content is no longer available online. I have the PS3 Fallout 3 GOTY and hope someday that Borderlands will also have a similar GOTY edition. LBP has DLC on their GOTY disc, but sadly, not all of the DLC that was available when it was released was included. IIRC, it was about $45 worth of DLC though.

I think that with their recent practices EA and Activision games will never have DLC on disc. Just look at COD4:MW, the GOTY edition has a DLC code, and that was for a 2 year old game! Forget about any Mass Effect (1, 2, or 3) DLC showing up on a disc too.

I saw at Walmart that Borderlands got DLC released on disc, the zombie one and another one. Is 2 all of them so far?

Guess I could look it up but, meh. This post is mostly to say that they got a disc release.

heh- picked it up today myself. It has 2 of 3 DLC packs for borderlands. Unfortunately, the DLC that raises the level cap is the one not featured on the disk. I was looking forward to kicking up my level 50s.

That said- the zombie isle of dr ned is probably the best dlc i've ever played. Really fucking fun. A lot of story and combat. I couldn't play it in a sitting.

Haven't tried the thunderdome one yet.

The best way to get disc based DLC is to wait a year or two, and get the GOTY edition that has all the DLC on the disc. And OXBM often has DLC on the demo disc. Even once the three downloadable levels for Splinter Cell are lost on April 15, they will still available from some old issue of OXBM from 2003.
