SEX MACHINEGUNS

Post by aaron »

ok, seriously, i love this fucking band. i have been looking for their records for years and this is the closest i've found to finding anything worthwhile:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... ns&x=0&y=0

taking a look at those prices, you can see why i am hesitant. i'm really looking for vinyl anyway. what i'm asking is if anyone has any good leads for online music importers? or if anyone who posts on this forum has any of these records and wants to sell them? or lives in japan and would look for them for me? i'd be really, really appreciative.

if you've never heard this band, watch these:

seriously. seriously.

Hm. Not as hardcore as I though they would be (which is a good thing - I am not very fond of metal - these guys actually have some sort of musical articulation). They remind me of Crush 40 (sorry, was the first thing that came to mind).

BTW, I lol-ed HARD at the first video link - it looks like those girls want to rape the band-members and the band is stuck in that room...

I've always found it odd how easy it is to find albums from a japanese band as obscure as say Gonin-Ish or Vomit Remnants for a reasonable price, but can't find anything from the bigger and more popular bands like this one, Galneryus, or X-Japan.

I'll stick to the ole black album by spinal tap when I want a metal parody(cheaper too yeesh!). These guys are just ok. I was also expecting something worse with a name like sex machineguns

Eh, not my kind of music.

Though couldn't they come up with an original name instead of trying to co-opt and one-up the Sex Pistols? It would be one thing if they were a cover band or were at least playing something resembling punk. :?

I'm dissapointed that nobody on here except the OP has ever actually heard of these guys. I thought they were pretty popular.

They're alright, but they seem a bit too focused on flipping their hair around in the wind. I prefer to get my guitar solo lessons from a psychopath raised in a chicken coup who always wears a KFC bucket for a hat and only speaks through a severed head puppet:

haven't listened in years, but i'm not into them anymore. if you're into a more punk+rock'n'roll thing with your metal, check out paintbox. their guitarist was one of japan's most respected in the punk world until he died from complications of shredding too hard (ie. cancer)

even if the name sex machineguns is a co-opt, it's a genius one

Hmm, Paintbox didn't really float my boat either. Oh well, different tastes. :)

Since I like mostly electronic music, Mad Capsule Markets is my style.
