Do you have mulitple forum names?

Post by Jimmy Yakapucci »

I am sure that many of you are like me and belong to a number of web sites. My question is this: Do you use the same forum name, handle, id, whatever you want to call it on all of them or different ones, and why?

Personally, I use the same name on all the web sites that I have joined. The main reason is that I have no reason not to. I would probably only confuse myself with which name goes with what site if I were to have multiple names.

My handles are usually some geeky reference to whatever I'm enthusiastic about at the time I join a forum. I'm pelham123 on racketboy, as it's my all-time-favourite movie. The Scott remake is however, the worst film ever made. EVER.

I use the same name everywhere I go. If for some reason I can't use 1337, I use 2099 or 1990, or whatever year it is.

I use Deathclaw and in case it's no longer available I use Deathclaw555 instead :)

I have two here:
fastbilly1 and fast - which are an old gag with a few friends

And I typically stay with those. If they are taken I use:
Buckleberry - Tolkien reference
Velafrons - dinosaur
ThenNomeKing - butchering of character in the Wizard of Oz world

Its funny Ive used fastbilly1 since 98 and, apart from the guy who uses it on AOL and a bicycling site, only in 07 did other start using it.

I just picked a couple of my favorite soccer players, so I usually go by 'Thierry Henry' or 'Gazza'
Sometimes it just feels dumb though that we pick certain nicks as our forum id. If I could go back I'd have just used my own name instead.

Lol, The Nome King... he looked like a fag with those ruby slippers on in Return to Oz. Which reminds me how creepy that movie is...

For the most part I use the same name everywhere. However, I recently started to drop the "587" when I register at new places. Why? Because people automatically assume it means I was born in March of 1987 when in fact that is not true.

The books were so much better and darker, but Return to Oz stands as one of the scariest movies of all time. Damn Mombi taking off her heads.

We were playing Dungeon Siege back in the day and we ran out of monitors so I was playing on a TV and typed TheNomeKing in as ThenNomeKing and it has stuck since then. It is my extreme safety on account names.

I have a few, and they ALL have something to do with Robotech/Macross. Breetai, Firebomber, Khyron, Nekki, Fokker, etc. I usually use Breetai.
