who said this? did you find prices on amazon or ebay? if so there are many people that overprice things calling it rare just because it's the first time they picked up the copy or even saw it.

Instead of making a new post, you should have popped your question to here:

Racketboy Post: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 26&t=19330

I just finished doing a review with pics there ....................

To answer your query probably because of all the hype of the Last Guardian for the PS3.

Gamestop does have it for $34.99

It's been going for upwards of 40 USD ever since the trailer for the Last Guardian was leaked in May. I guess it renewed interest in the game.

The PAL version in the digipak+carboard sleeve plus artcards is uncommon/semi-rare and has seen a spike in price recently, the standard DVD case version is very common since it got a reprint a couple of years ago isn't worth anywhere near as much as the limited digipak version.

I managed to score both of my digipak versions with artcards in mint condition for £12 each. I managed to get Shadow of the Colossus digipak+artcards for £17 brand new. They're all worth considerably more now. Ico can go for around £30-40 if it's in mint condition.

Yeah it's not really the rarest PS2 game, mostly just uncommon.

GameStop had it for $19.99 used for nearly five years until the trailer for The Last Guardian leaked.

Even if you find a copy from gamestop, I wouldn't buy it there. I got my Ico copy for 20 bucks, used. Case is a little scratched up, and disc is a little scratched too. Since it's a blue disc, doesn't work on my PS2, but it doesn't even work on my brothers B/C PS3, and I can't return it, but I still have a nice display for my collection.

is your ps2 slim or fat? if it is fat...did you ever try putting your ps2 vertically and then trying? i know it sounds strange but my old ps2 wouldn't play them unless it was put upright. although i never really like to have it standing up. probably a bad lens in my case though. lol

Nope, haven't tried that. Might try it later though, thanks. I don't like to have mine standing up either because mine is in kind of a high place, so putting it horizontally is the ideal position. I have tried the other tricks and solutions that obviously didn't work.

Oh shit, I forgot that you unlucky guys got it on a CD-ROM. The PAL version is on a DVD and it comes with all that extra stuff too! One of the rare times we didn't get the Sony shaft.
