The best classic PS1 game?
In my opinion, it's Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped!

Re: The best classic Sony game?
Depends what you mean by "Sony" game. Do you mean a game made by Sony as a developer or game in general for the Sony PlayStation?

Re: The best classic PS1 game?
I gotta go with Ridge Racer. If your not familiar with it:
One of the few launch titles that I still play from time to time. It was a perfect port with no loading screens after the initial one at boot. That is probably one of the coolest loading screens of all time. It is a modified version of Galaxian, and if you manage to shoot everything on screen before the game has finished loading you unlock 8 additional cars that can be used in game.
Before the launch of the console there was a rumor going around that Ridge Racer would be the pack-in game. That turned out not to be true sadly...but a lot of people ended up buying it separately.
There was also a custom controller released by Namco for this game. Here is a picture of it:

You could "twist" the controller to steer. Keep in mind that this was released before dual-shocks came a long. At the time it was the best way to play the game if you didn't have a steering wheel.
