Ever gotten lyrics wrong and liked your version better?

Random topic, I know, but this has happened to me twice this year...
The first is "Look At Me" by Ill Repute which has a line which goes, "Don't you know you envy me, so take a look - take a look at me!" which I heard as what I thought up until I looked up the actual lyrics was the greatest line ever: "They say know your enemies, so take a look - take a look at me!" I mean honestly, if I'm ever in a band, THAT LINE is going in a song.
Then recently I was listening to "Pure Hate" by Poison Idea which is a song about joining cults and selling out your humanity for hate. It has the lyrics:
"Look in my heart see the pain,
Look in my brain see the hate, it's pure,
Look into my eyes, I'm - GONE!"
I heard the last line as:
"Look into my eyes, I'm - GOD!"
Which I thought was a stupendously poignant line in its misguided religious dogma. But alas, those aren't the lyrics.
Have you guys had any similar experiences?
