Sneak King

Post by Zalphier »

So I got Sneak King(one of three burger king xbox/360 games) and I thoroughly enjoy the 4 measly dollars I spent.(yeah, you don't actually have to buy a meal, I just bought it buy itself, still 4$) It's definately worth the investment. This is a budget title.
While it may seem like a marketing campaign(well, it is) it is still quite fun. While it is a budget title, it was well programmed, and time was definately spent on it. 4 levels, and 20 missions on each.(so far, I've played the first 3 levels) The game works on both xbox, and 360. No, it's not just an xbox game. Because with a normal xbox game, you have to download an emulator to play it on your 360. This game will work with both the xbox and the xbox 360 right out of the box.

So now for a quick review:

Graphics:
Now, the graphics aren't really anything worthy of the next gen title. This doesn't really get in the way of gameplay though. You know what everything is. It's just that the textures aren't as crisp as they could be. Though this is a budget title, I'm not cutting any slack, so it's a 6.5/10

Music:
Simple catchy melodies get the job done. Nothing too elaberate. 6.5/10

Gameplay:
This is where the title begins to shine. Many missions and the levels are big, fluid controls and simple gameplay makes for a great gaming experience. The only things that bring this title down are:
1.The game doesn't explain how many challenges you must complete to advance to the next level,(from my experience, it's roughly ten)
2.Repetition, repetition, repetition. Almost the whole game involves you surprising people with food(with little twists and such, i.e. : Only deliver food to people in backyards, only deliver at hunger level 3, or only women) There are a couple acceptions, for example, be seen by everyone, or deliver amounts of food in certain time or without being seen.
3.There is no tutorial, or something in the manual that explains gameplay, other than showing the controls.
This aside, once you know how to play, it's a fun game. 8/10

Presentation:
Good presentation. Nice word choice on the challenge discriptions. Menus are simple, and a great(somewhat funny) title screen. Also, for you 360 maniacs, there are acheivements to collect! Yes, that's right, you can get a cheap achievement fix here. With roughly, I dunno, 15 to collect. You can also check out which achievments you've unlocked in game, and how to unlock others need unlocking. The Box art is simple, but it does it's purpose. 7.5/10

Overall: 7.125=good game. Not the best out there, it's highly unlikely that the best would be 4$, but it's also highly unlikely that you could get such a great game for 4$. Yes it is a marketing campaign, but it's so much more than that. Definataly worth a buy. You'll be thoroughly surprised by how good the game actually is. And if you happen to not like it, hell, give it away, it was 4$. I'm sure a younger sibling would enjoy this game very much.(my sister was eyeballing it while I was playing, but it's mine, dammit!)

I've actually heard that all 4 are great games for their price. Plus, unlike XBLA games, they don't take up your precious HDD Space, yet are still budget! If I had a 360, that would be what I would spend my 12 bucks on! :D

I've got pocketbike racer and it's not all that great. But for budget titles, the visuals and the gameplay is more than apt. Like Wii Sports - not worth full price, but for free? FANTASTIC.
